Welcome to AI Handwriting Generator (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how Bytesweavers (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

User-Provided Content & Configuration

  • The text you enter or paste into the app for handwriting generation.
  • Your selections for font style, paper style, font size, line spacing, and ink color.
  • Text prompts you provide for the AI text generation feature.
  • Configuration settings for the AI text generation feature, including your choice of AI provider and model (when using custom mode).
  • API keys you provide for third-party AI services (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic) when using the “Custom API” mode.
    These keys are stored locally on your device using Android’s EncryptedSharedPreferences system.

Generated Content

  • The text generated by the AI services based on your prompts.
  • Preview images and final PDF documents generated within the app are processed locally and saved to your device’s storage upon your request using Android’s MediaStore.

Advertising Data (via Google AdMob)

  • We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the App. AdMob may collect and use device identifiers (like the Advertising ID), IP address, device information, and approximate location data to serve relevant ads and measure their performance.
  • This data collection is subject to Google’s advertising privacy policies.

Usage Data (Preferences)

  • We store your most recent selections (like last used font, paper style, AI provider/model settings) locally using Android’s SharedPreferences to provide a more convenient user experience on subsequent uses.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide Core App Functionality: To generate handwriting previews and PDF documents based on your input text and selected styles.
  • To Enable AI Text Generation:
    • To send your text prompts, selected model, and API key (only if using custom mode with your key) to the chosen third-party AI service (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic) to generate text responses.
  • To Personalize Experience: To remember your preferences (last used styles, settings) for easier use next time.
  • To Display Advertisements: To support the App’s development and maintenance through advertising shown via Google AdMob.
  • To Store API Keys Securely (Custom Mode): To securely store the API keys you provide for third-party services locally on your device using encryption, so you don’t have to re-enter them every time.

Information Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information under the following circumstances:

  • With Google AdMob: As described above, AdMob collects data to serve ads. Please refer to Google’s advertising policies.
  • With Third-Party AI Services (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic): When you use the AI text generation feature, your prompt, selected model identifier, and potentially your API key (if using custom mode) are sent directly to the respective service. Your use of these features is subject to their privacy policies and terms of service.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or comply with government requests.

We do not share your user-provided API keys with any party other than the specific AI service you select when using the custom API mode.

Data Security

  • We use Android’s EncryptedSharedPreferences system to store the third-party API keys you provide in the custom AI mode.
  • Handwriting text, configuration choices, and generated content (previews, PDFs) are primarily processed and stored locally on your device.
  • We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.
  • However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security—especially for data transmitted over the internet or handled by third-party services.

Data Retention

  • User-provided text and AI prompts are processed transiently and not stored after generation unless you save them locally (e.g., as PDFs).
  • Configuration preferences are stored locally via SharedPreferences until the app is uninstalled or app data is cleared.
  • API keys stored via EncryptedSharedPreferences remain on your device until the app is uninstalled or app data is cleared.
  • Generated PDF files are stored in your device’s shared storage (e.g., Documents folder) under your control.

Your Choices

  • You can choose not to provide text or prompts.
  • You can select your preferred font, paper, and other styling options.
  • You can use your own API keys for AI text generation.
  • You can manage or delete saved PDF files directly from your device’s storage.
  • You can clear app data to remove locally stored preferences and encrypted API keys.
  • You may control ad personalization through your device’s advertising ID settings.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we discover that we have collected such data without parental consent, we will delete it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
