Privacy Policy
Offline AI Auto Captions is designed to caption videos privately. Video, audio, transcript, caption editing, and export processing happen on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not upload your selected videos, extracted audio, transcripts, or exported caption files to our servers.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android app Offline AI Auto Captions, published by bytesweavers. In this policy, "we", "us", and "our" mean bytesweavers, and "the app" means Offline AI Auto Captions for Android.

2. Information processed by the app
The app may process the following information on your device:
- Videos you choose: videos selected from Photos, Files, or Android media providers.
- Audio extracted from videos: temporary audio data used to create captions.
- Transcripts and captions: generated text, timing, edits, style settings, and export files such as SRT, WebVTT, TXT, ASS, or captioned video outputs.
- Local app activity: recent jobs, project count, selected model, caption style settings, downloaded model files, and Pro access state.
This content is processed locally on your device. We do not operate a cloud transcription service for this app.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your selected videos.
- We do not collect extracted audio from your videos.
- We do not collect generated transcripts or caption text.
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not run our own analytics service in the current Android version.
4. Internet use and model downloads
The app uses internet access for features such as downloading offline speech recognition model files, checking network availability, showing ads to free users, opening support or legal links, and using Google Play Billing.
When the app downloads a model, the model provider or hosting service may receive standard network information such as your IP address, device request metadata, date and time of the request, and download status. Your selected video, audio, and transcript content are not sent as part of model downloads.
5. Ads in the free version
The free version of the app may show ads through Google AdMob. Ads are not shown to users while an active paid membership is recognized by the app.
Google and its advertising partners may process information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, approximate location inferred from network information, and diagnostics to provide, limit, measure, and improve ads. This processing is handled by Google and its partners according to their own policies and the choices available on your device.

6. Purchases and subscriptions
Paid memberships and subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your full payment card number, bank account details, or Google account password.
The app may receive purchase status information from Google Play, such as whether a subscription is active, the product purchased, purchase token, renewal status, and related transaction state, so that Pro features can be unlocked or restored.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Google Play account. Google handles payment information under the Google Payments Privacy Notice.
7. Permissions

8. Local storage and retention
Videos remain where you selected them unless you export or share a new file. Captions, transcripts, style settings, recent activity, model files, and exported files may be stored on your device. You can delete exported files using your device file manager, clear app data, delete downloaded models in app settings, or uninstall the app.
Support emails you send to us are retained as long as needed to respond to your request, maintain support history, and meet legal or business record needs.
9. Sharing of information
We may share information only in these limited situations:
- With your action: when you export, save, or share caption files or videos using Android sharing tools.
- With Google services: for ads, Google Play Billing, app distribution, crash or platform services, and payment processing.
- For support: if you email us, we use the information you provide to respond.
- For legal reasons: if required to comply with law, enforce terms, prevent abuse, or protect rights and safety.
10. Your choices
- You can avoid selecting a video if you do not want the app to process it.
- You can delete downloaded speech models from the app settings.
- You can remove generated files from your device storage.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play.
- You can reset or limit advertising personalization from your Android or Google settings where available.

12. Children's privacy

We design the app so caption processing happens locally on your device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we handle.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and publish the new version at this page.
